Medical Missions
Medical missions are promoted in much the same way as our vision clinics, and patients move through the evangelism station as they enter the facility. Once inside, each person is seen by a doctor or nurse for their specific health concerns and then proceeds to the pharmacy, where appropriate medications are dispensed. Our medical teams are well organized and capable of treating up to one thousand people in a single day.
How it Works
-
Ministry of Health consents to this medical program in their area
Location secured, medical clinic publicized to local population
Kenyan doctors hired, medications ordered
Pastors recruited and trained
-
Local pastors do ministry/evangelism on the patient’s way into the clinic
Consultation with nurse upon entry determines the patient’s routing
Multiple medical stations inside staffed with medical professionals
Each station equipped with a master list of the medications available in the pharmacy
Scripts are written at the station according to the patient’s need
Patient proceeds to the pharmacy where the appropriate meds are dispensed
-
Present the gospel to every person in line for the clinic
Record the contact information for each person who receives Christ
Follow up with those who receive Christ to include them in church life
-
Give vitamins and anti-parasitic medicine to everyone because of malnutrition and poor drinking water.
Treat urgent problems: respiratory infections, other infections, and wounds.
Manage some chronic conditions: high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, and epilepsy.
